Han and Anyi is Manchester, United Kingdom based Indie pop rock artist, bringing a refreshing touch to the industry with an original and authentic style. Their flow and creativity set them apart from competition. Han and Anyi are 17-year-old twins and are high school students in Manchester, UK, currently doing their A levels. They have been writing and producing songs about teenagers’ inner world since they were 15.Creating music together is very meaningful to us. Having experienced difficulties in high school such as bullying and loneliness, we find songwriting a way to reflect on these experiences and understand ourselves better. From writing our first song, ‘Coming Home,’ at the age of 15, to recording and producing our tracks during lockdown, we have reached the stage where we are able to release our six-song debut album, ‘Life Sketches,’ onto major streaming platforms such as Spotify and iTunes. Our album conveys our experiences during our teenage years, including a mix of genres such as indie, pop and rock. ‘Life Sketches’ explores themes such as identity, memories, belonging, dreams and loneliness. Writing songs can be a vulnerable process, but being able to share this with a soulmate can be liberating and empowering. ‘Girl In The Mirror’ is our debut single. It is about Anyi’s struggles to move on from difficulties she experienced during high school. Try as she might to change herself, every time she looks into the ‘mirror’, all she can see is the shadow of the girl she used to be. This song was written very close to heart, and we wish for listeners to relate in their own personal way.
